What field of employment are you in?

I'm a graduate assistant working on my Master in Public Health degree at the USF College of Public Health.

Please tell us some of the non-proprietary details of your current work. Your fellow scientists are interested.

Currently I do research using the zebrafish embryo as a model for the in vivo study of Bartonella henselae infection and host response.

How did your degree prepare you for your current job?

My double major degree of biology and environmental science gave me the knowledge required for my position.

What is your favorite memory of your time at SLU?

I have wonderful SLU memories; it’s hard to pick just one. I am most appreciative of the friendships that I've made.

What advice would you offer current SLU biology students?

Students should maintain a high GPA and take all the prerequisite courses needed for further study at professional school. I think that they should take advantage of being in a small class where they are able to have one-on-one interaction with professors.
