Our nation’s 650,000 social workers deal with some of the most difficult issues impacting individuals, families and communities: schools and interpersonal family violence, natural and human made disasters, telehealth care, health care and mental health care, public health, impact of social media and technology, aging, youth, reentry and reintegration for prisoners, and trauma. It is important that we not only address these issues but more importantly identify solutions and actions to address these problems that lead to hope.
Proposals must offer evidenced based practices and strategies that demonstrate meaningful solutions and clearly delineate actions taken to promote hope in the people and communities that are served.
You are invited to submit an abstract for a paper or panel presentation to include the following:
TITLE: Should reflect the theme of your presentation
ABSTRACT – Between 125 and 250 word, provide a description of your presentation reflecting the conference theme, and select one of the methods below.
METHODS – Select among the following: 1. PAPER/ORAL PRESENTATION- This is a 50 minute presentation followed by 10 minutes Q&A 2. PANEL–Two to three presenters - Two or more presenters - This is a 50 - minute presentation to be distributed evenly among presenters followed by 10 minutes Q&A. If you propose to present as a panel, information for each presenter must accompany abstract.
KEYWORDS - Provide three key words that characterize your topic or approach – if we receive many proposals we may match you with a similar one as a panel, using these keywords
LEARNING OBJECTIVES – List 4 -5 learning objectives for your presentation, i.e. At the end of this presentation, participants will….
In order to provide continuing education credits, we must ask you to submit a copy of the Curriculum Vitae or Resume for each presenter listed on an abstract. Presentation must be 50-60 minutes for 1 CE and must have application to social work practice.
