    Call for Abstracts-Due by Friday, Feb. 1, 2019

    The Atlanta Regional Interdisciplinary Academic Conference (ARIAC) is accepting proposals for the 2019 conference. The theme this year will be "Bridging the Gap between Theory and Application: Agility a must!

    Conference Focus
    In keeping with the theme, we are issuing a Call for Abstracts & Presentations with the focus on educational strategies to assist graduates with success in a global workforce. 

    ARIAC attendees are grouped into three categories:

    • Students
    • Educators
    • Other professionals and community stakeholders

    The ARIAC invites proposals for one of five tracks:

    1. Healthcare and Hospital Systems
    2. Interdisciplinary Community Engagement
    3. Public Service (Federal & State: Homeland Security, Law Enforcement, Military & Veterans)
    4. Success Strategies for Educating Non-Traditional Students
    5. Global Management Practices (Project Management, Human Resources, Computer Science, Business, and Healthcare)

    Abstract Evaluation:

    Competitive abstracts will be double-blind peer-reviewed. Abstracts should not exceed 500 typewritten words, double-spaced and must follow the American Psychological Association (APA) format. Abstracts should include the title of the paper, authors’ names, objective of the research, methodology, and importance of the research. Author identification, including a complete mailing address, e-mail address, and telephone number, should appear only on the cover page. Authors should not identify themselves elsewhere in the proposal. Please state on the cover page: “Proposal for the 2019 ARIAC Conference.” The non-refundable $100.00 conference fee is due within two weeks of notification of acceptance. Student registration fee is $75.00.

    Presenters are encourages to submit full papers to the Interdisciplinary Insights: The Journal of Saint Leo University's College of Education and Social Services. All submissions will be reviewed. Accepted manuscripts will be published in the journal. 

    Conference Presentations:

    Authors will present their abstracts at the March 30, 2019 ARIAC Conference at the Sonesta Gwinnett Place Atlanta Hotel, 1775 Pleasant Hill Rd., Duluth, GA 30096. Presenters will have 15-20 minutes, including time for Questions & Answers, to present their papers. The conference will facilitate a friendly forum for presenters to bounce ideas and gain constructive feedback that can then be used to enhance the paper for publication. Registration and a Social Meet & Greet begins March 29, 2019 from 5:30 pm to 8:00 pm.

    Poster Presentations:

    The Committee also invites proposals for individual poster presentations. The deadline for submitting abstracts for poster presentations is February 28, 2019. The Committee welcomes student poster presentations reflecting topics which explore the interests and concerns of any track listed. All poster submissions should include: (a) the title of the paper, (b) names, affiliations, contact information of each author, and (c) a brief abstract. Posters should display relevant objectives, theory, methods, results, and conclusions in a way that is accessible (readable from a distance of six feet) and visually appealing. Posters should not exceed 30" X 40". Easels will be provided.
