    What is Handshake?

Handshake is the online career management system for all students and alumni of Saint Leo University. In addition to being the place where you can search and apply for internships, part-time and full-time jobs, students and alumni can use Handshake to:

    • Personalize and maintain an online career profile that recommends jobs, events and employers to you based on your career interest and other factors
    • Schedule and keep track of your appointments with Career Services in one location
    • View upcoming local, on-campus and virtual skills development workshops
    • Upload and update your resume for employers to view in our searchable candidate resume database
    • Allow (or hide) your online career profile and resume to be viewable by employers
    • Submit your resume for employment opportunities posted by employers
    • Learn which employers are attending upcoming Career Fairs or hosting recruiting events
    • Receive announcements about employer information sessions or special career events
    • Follow and favorite employers and jobs to get alerts about new opportunities
    • Apply for and schedule on-campus interviews with employers seeking alumni candidates
    • Access additional career development resources

    Accessing Handshake (Current Students Only)

    • Starting July 16, all currently enrolled students or new students joining Saint Leo will have a Handshake account automatically created for them by the University Technology Services team.
    • To claim your Handshake account for the first time, simply log in through Saint Leo's Okta Single Sign-on page (login.saintleo.edu) using your Saint Leo credentials and then click the Handshake tile. There is no need for you to create a new password for Handshake.
    • Please DO NOT sign up for a new Handshake student account. The Single Sign-On option through Okta is the only authorized login method for current students.

    Accessing Handshake (Alumni Only)

    • Starting July 16, all Saint Leo University graduates will have free, lifetime access to Handshake.
    • To access Handshake, please DO NOT create a new Handshake account. If you create an account on your own, you will not be synced to Saint Leo University and will be unable to see and apply for jobs or access additional alumni services.
    • Instead, please email CareerServices@saintleo.edu with the following information:
           • Your First and Last Name
           • Your Saint Leo Email Address
           • Your old Student ID Number
           • The semester (or term) and year in which you graduated
    • If you do not have one or more of the pieces of information above, please email us with the information you do have and we will assist you.

For additional services, resources, and programs that are available to alumni, please visit our Alumni Career Services page for more details.

Note: Prospective students are not eligible for a Handshake account. For more information about what services, programs, and resources Career Services has available, email CareerServices@saintleo.edu or give us a call at (352) 588-8346.

Handshake is a combination of some of the best tools on the web today, taken from services like Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest. It's designed to help you precisely target career information, internship and employment opportunities as well as career events related to your specific major, degree type and interests.
