    Interdisciplinary Studies & Experiential Learning

The Department of Interdisciplinary Studies is the first undergraduate department to be created in more than a decade in the College of Arts and Sciences. It was created to support the development and establishment of experimental pedagogy and interdisciplinary partnerships across the university. To that end, the department houses majors in Global Studies, Liberal Studies and Medical Humanities as well as the Environmental Studies minor and four UE courses. The purpose behind this new department is to graduate students who become not only active and valuable members of their professional communities, but who are equipped to be agents of positive change in the multi-faceted worlds in which they find themselves.
