The Graduate and Undergraduate Social Work departments will host their fourth annual social work conference on Friday, March 9, at University Campus. Registration on-site will open at 8 a.m. in the Student Community Center.

At the request of prior participants, the conference sessions will focus again on the area of interventions and treatments for those suffering the ill effects of trauma of some kind. The formal title of the event is “Beyond ACES (Adverse Childhood Experiences): Transformative Interventions and Systems in Trauma.”

The keynote speaker is Judge Lynn Tepper of Florida’s 6th Judicial Circuit Court. Judge Tepper serves in east Pasco County and handles all cases involving child abuse and neglect, juvenile delinquency, domestic and family violence, and some criminal cases. She spoke at the conference in 2015 on the Adverse Childhood Experiences guide (pictured). The judge will speak at 9:15 a.m. in the Greenfelder-Denlinger Boardrooms of the Student Community Center.

Other speaker sessions will continue throughout the day until 4:30 p.m. The cost for the day is $60 with discounts available to students, alumni, and selected other groups.
