The Department of Residence Life staff works to provide support, guidance, and assistance to over 1,600 residential students. The professional staff team currently includes a Director of Residence Life & Leadership, an Assistant Director for Housing Operations, an Assistant Director for Student Conduct, a Senior Coordinator and three Graduate Assistants. Additionally, we have fifty-four Resident Assistants (RA's) living in our 14 residence halls to intentionally foster and develop strong positive communities and assist our resident students. Our RA’s are supervised by Resident Assistant Directors (RAD’s), who support an area of campus comprised of 200-350 residents and 7-10 RA's.
The Office of Residence Life is located in Apartment 6, which is the residence hall nearest the Student Activities Building (SAB) and Student Community Center (SCC). You can reach us by e-mail at firstname.lastname@example.org, by phone at (352) 588-8268 or by fax at (352) 588-8901. Our office hours are Monday-Friday 8am-5pm. We encourage students to seek assistance themselves, but are glad to speak to parents who would appreciate tips on coaching their children on asking for help or receiving direction to resolving residential concerns.
Residence life staff are available 24:7 for emergency assistance via the Campus Safety office (352-588-8432).
