The College of Arts and Sciences Presents a Conference on Sustainability in Higher Education

Saint Leo University hosts its first ever conference on Sustainability. We invite faculty, administrators, staff, graduate students, and undergraduate students to submit abstracts for an oral presentation, poster presentation, or interactive workshop session that fits within one of the three themes: (1) curriculum; (2) research; (3) campus activities and best practices.
For inclusion in the conference program, the abstract deadline is Thursday, April 30, 2020.
Abstract submission criteria:
• 250 word limit
Abstracts not accepted for oral presentation may be accepted for poster sessions. Oral presentation abstracts must be well-developed and sufficiently detailed to warrant dissemination via a 15 minute oral presentation, including, as appropriate, results of data. Poster abstracts which detail pilot studies, projects in their initial phases, and single-class experiences are welcome. Interactive workshop proposals should include a detailed description of the content to be covered, the research, curriculum, or activities upon which the content is based, and the manner in which workshop participants will engage the content.
Descriptions, including but not limited to the following:
Curriculum: pedagogy, online modules, case-studies, reading lists, assignments, labs, K-12 lessons
Research: discipline-specific, multidisciplinary, quantitative, qualitative, innovative technologies, biodiversity, conservation
Campus Activities: grounds maintenance, renewable energies, water use efficiencies, gardens, greenhouses, farms, single-use plastics, composting, sustainable dorms, invasive species, biodiversity and conservation
