Living on Campus

    Items to Bring

     Suggested Room Essentials: 

    • Hygiene Items: bathrobe, shower caddy, toiletries, hair dryer, shower shoes (i.e. rubber flip flops)
    • Linens: bed sheets*, mattress topper, comforter, extra blanket/throw, pillows, and towels.
      *We suggest twin XL size to better accommodate a mattress topper. 
    • Desk Items: small lamp, drawer organizer, stationary supplies, electric wax melt warmer, flameless/battery operated candle(s).
    • Food Items: plastic containers for dry foods, can opener, microwave-safe bowls, cups, and plates, silverware
    • Pictures/Posters: with reusable adhesives that will not damage room walls
    • Cleaning Items: Vacuum/Swiffer, trash can, air freshener, all-purpose cleaning spray, paper towels, dish soap, sponge, Lysol spray & wipes
    • Laundry: basket/bag, laundry detergent, dryer sheets, clothes hangers, small iron and ironing board, drying rack
    • Entertainment Items: TV, gaming consoles, DVD/Blu-Ray player, HDMI cord
    • Emergency Items: Extra batteries, flashlight, first-aid kit, mini tool kit
    • Extension Strip(s): only permitted if it is equipped with circuit breaker and surge suppression switch
    • Extra Storage: two/three drawer storage cards for extra room storage
    • Apartments Only: Shower curtains, full kitchen supplies (the following appliances/cookware are only permitted in apartments with kitchens: George Foreman grills, hot plates, toaster ovens, electric griddles, and pots and pans)

    Items to Leave at Home

    • Wood burning or gas grills and/or kerosene containers
    • George Foreman grills, hotplates, toaster ovens, electric griddles, pots & pans (unless living in apartments with kitchens)
    • Curtains that are not treated to be flame retardant or made of a flame retardant material
    • Waterbeds, lofts, window air conditioning units
    • Decorative alcohol container collections
    • Multi-pronged adaptors, or extension cords that do not have a built-in circuit breaker and surge suppression switch
    • Adhesives that damage walls/wall paint, including but not limited to: duct tape, 3M adhesives, nails, screws, etc. 
    • Candles and incense
    • Halogen Lights or multi-lights with plastic light covers
    • Pets (only fish allowed; tank must be limited to 20 gallons in size)
    • Hoverboards
    • Weapons 
    • Illegal substances of any kind or drug paraphernalia
