The inaugural Women in Data + Science conference aims to broaden the impact and exposure of women in data-infused fields by creating a community that educates, empowers, and inspires. This interdisciplinary STEAM conference focuses on encouraging women to join the field and celebrating female trailblazers. Given the increased visibility of the struggles women face in the workplace, the conference seeks to honor women’s accomplishments in the sciences and to offer networking opportunities. It is important for women to share the hurdles they encounter and their strategies for overcoming them to bolster the next generation of women in historically male-dominated industries.
