    Patrick Sheridan, Ph.D.

    Associate Professor of Chemistry

    Patrick G. Sheridan, Ph.D. is an Associate Professor of Chemistry and a member of the Saint Leo Community since 2018. Before coming to Saint Leo University, Dr. Sheridan taught organic chemistry and related classes for a decade at Georgetown College in Georgetown, KY. While there, he created and directed leadership and STEM bridge programs for women and members of underrepresented groups. He has also taught at Rhodes College in Memphis, TN and State University of New York in Binghamton, NY. Dr. Sheridan's research efforts involve the design and synthesis of medicinally important compounds which has been supported in part through grants from the Howard Hughes Medical Institute. He has been a research advisor to over 50 undergraduate students and their work has been published in peer-reviewed journals as well as having been presented at many Regional and National American Chemical Society conferences. Dr. Sheridan enjoys presenting chemistry demonstrations and participating in other STEM outreach events, especially during National Chemistry Week.
