Athletics at Saint Leo University
There has never been a better time to be a Lion. Saint Leo University Athletics is recognized as one of the top NCAA Division II athletics programs in the country, consistently ranking among the nation’s top five Division II programs.
Saint Leo competes in the highly competitive Sunshine State Conference (SSC)—widely known as the “Conference of National Champions.” Our men’s and women’s varsity teams face elite competition year after year, preparing student-athletes for success at the conference, regional, and national levels.
At Saint Leo, student-athletes are developed both on the field and in the classroom. Lions consistently earn all-conference, all-region, and academic all-district honors, reflecting a strong commitment to academic achievement, leadership, and personal growth. Dedicated academic advising, tutoring resources, and faculty support help student-athletes balance the demands of competition and coursework.
Beyond varsity athletics, Saint Leo offers recreational and intramural sports for students who want to stay active, competitive, and connected to campus life. These programs provide additional opportunities to train, compete, and build community outside of NCAA competition.
If you are a prospective student-athlete looking for high-level competition, academic support, and a close-knit campus community, Saint Leo University Athletics offers the opportunity to compete with courage—while preparing for life beyond sports.
