Students invited to apply for 2024 Commencement
Congratulations, Lions! You have worked hard to achieve the goal of earning your degree. Now it’s time to celebrate your accomplishment!
Saint Leo University will host 2024 commencement events and ceremonies with academic regalia in Tampa, FL. An application is required to participate.
Commencement Events and Ceremony
Commencement events will be held on May 10, 2024 at University Campus. The commencement ceremony will be held on May 11, 2024 at the Florida State Fairgrounds-Expo Hall in Tampa. The application deadline to participate in the ceremony is Wednesday, January 24, 2024. More details to come.
University Campus and WorldWide students who have met all the requirements of Saint Leo University for receipt of a doctoral, master's, bachelor's, or associate degree and have met all financial obligations may participate in a commencement ceremony.
Master’s, bachelor’s, or associate degree students who have a maximum of two courses left for degree completion at the end of the spring semester may request permission to participate in the commencement ceremonies if they can provide evidence that all remaining coursework will be completed during the Summer 2024 semester.
Doctoral students must have all program requirements satisfied, including successful dissertation defense by Friday, April 5, 2024.
Application is required for consideration. If your application is approved, additional information regarding the Tampa events and ceremony will be sent in February.
Student 6-Step Process
Students, please complete all six steps listed below. Each step is necessary to ensure you have everything to confer your degree on time and participate in commencement.
Step 1: Confirm your eligibility with your advisor
Meet with your advisor to assess your program requirements and progress toward degree completion.
Step 2: Submit Degree Conferral Application on eLion Self-Service
This application is required of all students to confer your degree and issue your diploma. Your application will be processed after you have satisfied your program requirements. The date of your conferral is not associated with the date of the commencement ceremony.
To access, log into your Okta account, navigate to eLion Self-Service, then Degree Conferral to complete your Degree Conferral Application.
The degree conferral application and fee ($140) must be submitted through the eLion Self-Service portal prior to April 2024. The degree conferral application and fee are required regardless of your participation in Commencement.
Participation in a commencement ceremony is optional. If you do not wish to participate, you will not need to proceed with the Commencement Application.
Step 3: Submit Commencement Application on eForm
In 2024, Saint Leo University will host commencement ceremonies in Tampa, FL. You must submit an application for consideration to participate. This application is separate from the Degree Conferral Application mentioned in step two above.
To access the Commencement Application:
- Log into the Okta portal, preferably using Google Chrome or Firefox.
- Navigate to Etrieve Forms.
- Click on Forms.
- Scroll to Student Documents then select and complete the Commencement Application.
- Your information will auto-fill in the form. If the information that auto-fills is not correct, contact firstname.lastname@example.org before you submit your commencement application.
- Complete the application and then submit.
Upon submission, a confirmation email will be sent to your Saint Leo email account and stored in eForm Activity.
Step 4: Review your financial account
Review your financial account to ensure you have met all obligations. Contact Student Financial Services at SFS@saintleo.edu or (800) 240-7658.
Step 5: Pre-order your regalia (Dates TBA)
The website to pre-order caps and gowns will open closer to the ceremony date. At that time, you can also shop for other commencement related items, such as announcements, diploma frames, class rings, and more.
