The Medical Humanities Minor is designed to provide students with an understanding of the field of Medical Humanities, including artistic, social, philosophical, and historical perspectives of medicine and illness. This minor complements related health-related areas of study such as Biology but also Sociology, English, Psychology, Social Work and other disciplines.
The Medical Humanities minor meets the needs of students entering a variety of health-related fields by training those whose jobs place them in direct contact with patients and clients. This could include graduate work or careers in pharmaceutical sales, healthcare administration, counseling, medical technology, non-profit organization, legal or policy-making arenas, community health organizations, as well as many other fields.
