One highlight of the Wellness Center is its magnificent pool, featuring the largest infinity edge pool at any college in Florida. Popular among students, the pool is frequented by up to 50-60 people on weekends for relaxation, socialization, and even homework.
The gymnasium at the Wellness Center covers a generous 11,000 square feet, featuring two versatile courts ideal for basketball, pickleball, volleyball, or indoor soccer and hockey. Separate from the courts, the fitness floor is equipped with cardio machines, free weights, weight machines, a HIIT area, and private studio spaces tailored to accommodate a variety of workout preferences, ensuring a comfortable environment for all users.
Adjacent to the pool is Cafe 36, a gourmet nutrition cafe run by Jon’s Gourmet Nutrition, offering healthy smoothies, pizzas, flatbreads, wraps, salads, and more. Cafe 36 provides access to the pool deck and allows poolside service.
The Wellness Center offers a wide variety of classes and programs determined by student requests and fitness trends. Expert instructors introduce fresh, engaging class concepts like combined spin and step classes. The center also manages intramural sports for students interested in team-building and friendly competition.
In addition to its state-of-the-art fitness facilities, the Wellness Center manages outdoor lakefront activities such as kayaking, canoeing, and fishing for those seeking a connection with nature and outdoor recreation.
Around 500-700 community members have become members of the Wellness Center, offering a sense of unity and valuable networking opportunities for students to potentially establish professional connections. This intentional engagement with the broader local community sets the center apart from other university wellness facilities.
