Fans of American Idol in East Pasco County will have a chance to see one of the show’s standout talents in person this March. Zachariah Smith, an American Idol top five finalist from Orlando, will perform at Saint Leo University on Friday, March 6, as part of the new Taste of Saint Leo event during Alumni Weekend 2026.
Held at Saint Leo University’s Wellness Center, the event begins at 6:30 p.m., with Smith taking the stage at 7 p.m., alongside his two bandmates. Known for his vocal talent and stage presence, Smith gained national recognition on the 21st season of American Idol, earning praise from judges Lionel Richie, Luke Bryan, and Katy Perry. Since the show, he has released multiple singles, performed on the Built 4 More Tour, and made his Grand Ole Opry debut.
A brand-new addition to Alumni Weekend 2026, the Taste of Saint Leo combines food, drinks, and live music and is open to Saint Leo alumni, students, and the surrounding community. The event features tastings from area food and beverage vendors, including Uncle Fatty's, Keel Farms, Cuban Grounds, Dade City Brewery, and other local favorites.
Saint Leo alumni ages 21 and older who register and pay a $25 event fee will receive a green wristband on site, providing access to all food, beverages, and the concert. All other attendees – including those under 21, students, or anyone who does not pay the $25 fee – will receive a red wristband, which provides access to the concert only and does not include food or beverages.
