Each semester, Saint Leo University hosts many enjoyable events at University Campus that are open to the public. The campus is at 33701 County Road 52, St. Leo, FL, 33574. Parking is available in the evening in surface lots, as well as in the campus garage.

For those not familiar with campus buildings, Lewis Hall is the building immediately visible on the right once you have turned onto the main campus roadway. Lewis houses Selby Auditorium, and there is an entrance at ground level directly into Selby. Benedictine Hall is the home of the Black Box Theatre. Benedictine is the three-story building on the west end of campus, and has its own entrance from State Road 52 and its own parking lot.

Tuesday concert: The New Moon Performing Arts Series begins with the fall faculty recital, themed from "From Bach to Bebop." The College of Arts and Sciences music instructors will provide an eclectic program of music from across time. The performance is at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, September 25, in Selby Auditorium in Lewis Hall. Admission is free.

Faculty authors reading on Wednesday: The public is welcome to attend "Wild Gifts: A Reading by Creative Writing Faculty" with Anne Barngrover, Patrick Crerand, Brooke King, Steve Kistulentz, and Gianna Russo, at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, September 26, in Selby Auditorium in Lewis Hall. The presenters are all published authors who are on the faculty of the College of Arts and Sciences. Admission is free.

Student theatre on the weekend: The Saint Leo Black Box Theatre kicks off its season with The 39 Steps, a humorous adaptation of Alfred Hitchcock's 1935 film. Mistaken identity, an international plot to steal military secrets, and quirky characters lend the play its action and comedy.

Performances: Friday, September 28; Saturday, September 29; and Sunday, September 30. The show time on Friday and Saturday is 7:30 p.m. Sunday is a matinee performance beginning at 2 p.m.

The Black Box Theatre is on the ground floor of Benedictine Hall at Saint Leo University Campus. To reserve your seat, email StLeoTheatre@saintleo.edu. Admission is free, with a $10 suggested donation.
