The local community is invited to Haunted Marmion, hosted by the Office of Residence Life and First Year Experience Office, from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, October 25, in Marmion-Snyder Hall, 33701 County Road 52.

This student residence is the long complex formed by two conjoined buildings at the west end of University Campus. Marmion-Snyder Hall is visible from State Road 52, and accessible to vehicles via the entrance just east of Benedictine Hall.

All floors of the residence hall will be transformed into a Stranger Things-themed haunted house for the Haunted Marmion event. Visitors to the haunted house, Stranger Halls, based on the popular Netflix show, may find the portal to "the Upside Down."

Trick-or-treating will take place on two floors of Snyder Hall. For those who are younger and those who don't like being scared, there will be games, crafts, and other activities in The Lion's Den in Marmion-Snyder for those not participating in the haunted house.

The event is free; however, those attending are asked to donate one or more canned/nonperishable food items at check-in. In keeping with Saint Leo's core values, these items will be given to a local food bank for community distribution among those in need.

Saint Leo students are invited to help with the event, too. From 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, October 22, Tuesday, October 23, and Thursday, October 24, volunteers are wanted for painting, decorating, and setting up the trick-or-treat halls. On the day of the event, volunteers will be needed from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Thursday, October 25, which will include decorating the haunted halls, assisting with the event, and clean-up. For those who contribute to the Haunted Marmion efforts, there will be a pizza party after the event!
