A criminalistics degree will provide you the knowledge and training you need to solve the crime. Saint Leo's Criminal Justice - Criminalistics Specialization trains you in crime scene investigation and forensic science. Crime scene analysts process evidence—like DNA, fingerprints and bullets—in a forensics lab to help identify suspects and reconstruct the events of a crime.
Criminalistics is the application of scientific methods to the recognition, collection, identification, and comparison of physical evidence generated by criminal or illegal civil activity. It also involves the reconstruction of such events by evaluation of the physical evidence and the crime scene.
Learn the latest techniques from faculty members who've served as real-life crime scene investigators. At Saint Leo, you'll develop expert knowledge on crime scene processing, fingerprint analysis, evidence preservation and blood stain interpretation, while building job-ready skills in scientific writing and courtroom testimony.
