Shortly after birth, Chris Miller started to do things. But let's fast forward to his college education which started with a Biology degree at the University of Texas, Austin. He became especially interested in how people interacted and altered their environment. He always thought the Amazon River of South America seemed fascinating, so he began doing fieldwork in Brazil for his Master's degree. He completed his Master's degree at the University of Florida examining the conservation and human impacts of tropical forests. He continued to do fieldwork at the University of Georgia, but worked in the Ecuadorian Amazon. Later, he conducted fieldwork in the Peruvian Amazon. Nowadays he is mostly focused on mangrove forests and their response to climate change.
He is married to Karen, who is also a teacher, and has two daughters both in college (English and Animal Science majors).
