Katrina Maxwell, Ph.D
Katrina Maxwell earned a Ph.D. and a Master of Science in Family Relations from Florida State University (FSU) and a Bachelor of Science in Child Development from South Carolina State University (SCSU). While pursuing her doctorate, she served as a student therapist to individuals, couples, and families at FSU’s Marriage and Family Therapy Center. In practicum, she was trained by a leading therapist in the field of Marriage and Family Therapy. She worked with couples as a Relationship Counselor through a grant funded by the Administration for Children and Families’ Healthy Marriages Initiative in Florida. Dr. Maxwell joined Saint Leo University in 2017 as an Associate Professor of Human Services (HUS). She is the full-time faculty in HUS, teaches undergraduate courses, serves as a faculty advisor of the HUS Club, is a member of the Honor Code Violation Committee, leads an Advisory Board for the HUS program, and is an advisor for the Pi Gamma Mu Honor Society. Prior to joining Saint Leo University faculty, she was an assistant professor for over five years. She taught family relations and individual and family development courses to undergraduate and graduate students at SCSU. She was program coordinator of a graduate program while serving on various university, college, and departmental committees.
