Dr. Stephen L. Baglione started teaching at Saint Leo University in 1996. He is a native of New York City, growing up in Queens, a few miles from Shea Stadium (replaced by Citi Field) and the USTA National Tennis Center. His undergraduate degree is from Queens College (City University of New York) in Economics, History, and Political Science.Â As an undergraduate, he was awarded an internship in the New York State Assembly.Â He graduated with honors and was accepted into the Gold Key National Honor Society, Economic Honor Society (Omicron Delta Epsilon), History Honor Society (Phi Alpha Theta), and Political Science Honor Society (Pi Sigma Alpha).
Dr. Baglione is a tenured full professor.Â He was a Fulbright Scholar at the University of Ljubljana in Slovenia.Â He has won the University Teacher of the Year (twice).Â He is a multiple winner of the Saint Leo University Researcher of the Year (four times) and School of Business Researcher of the Year (four times) and Teacher of the Year (five times).Â He has also won the Saint Leo University Student Government Union (SGU) Teacher of the Year and Faculty Advisor of the Year. In 2007, he was awarded the University's Lifetime Research Award. He has served on over 60 committees while at Saint Leo University, chairing almost a dozen.Â Dr. Baglione has authored or co-authored almost 100 refereed journal and proceedings articles for publications such as the British Food Journal, Chinese Management Studies, Electronic Markets, Journal of Excellence in College Teaching, Journal of Promotion Management, Quarterly Review of Distance Education, and The Journal of Applied Management and Entrepreneurship.
His expertise is marketing research and active learning.Â He was faculty advisor for the Saint Leo University chapter of the AMA for 20 years, an organization that won 34 major awards at its International Collegiate Conference (ICC) during his tenure, 11 times winning two or more awards. The AMA was the Saint Leo University SGU Organization of the Year (2016 and 2012).Â
