    Tammy Quick, Ph.D.

    Assistant Professor Tammy Quick is an Associate Professor in the undergraduate education department. She received her B.A. and M.Ed. from Saint Leo University. Her Ph.D. was completed at Florida State University. Prior to coming to Saint Leo, Dr. Quick taught in the private and public sector for twenty years receiving multiple honors, including being named Rookie Teacher of the Year and Teacher of the Year. She served as Grade Level Chair, English/Language Arts Lead, participated in the New Teacher Peer Mentor Program, and presented at workshops and professional development trainings in Marion County, FL.Dr. Quick is the advisor for students in the early childhood, elementary, and middle grades’ education programs at the Ocala Education Center and works directly with school administrative faculty within the surrounding five school districts. Her goal as a professor is to prepare future educators in developing their teaching practices to serve the children in our communities. Dr. Quick is a member of numerous education organizations including the International Literacy Association, the Florida Council of Teachers of English, Kappa Delta Pi, and the National Association for the Education of Young Children. Dr. Quick is the program administrator for the Educational Studies Early Childhood Development and Education program at Saint Leo University. She is also the University Representative for the Florida Fund for Minority Teacher at Saint Leo University. Her research interests include literacy instruction and technology integration with young children.
