Timothy Jussaume, Ph.D.
Assistant Professor
Dr. Jussaume specializes in the history of philosophy, especially 19th- and 20th-century Continental philosophy. He also has interests in environmental philosophy, biomedical ethics, and philosophy of religion. Dr. Jussaume is the editor of the Journal of Philosophy and Scripture, which aims to facilitate dialogue between philosophy and sacred texts from a wide variety of religious traditions. He is also co-founder of the Southeastern Association for the Continental Tradition. Dr. Jussaume currently teaches within both the Department of Interdisciplinary Studies and Experiential Learning and the Department of Philosophy, Theology, and Religion. His courses emphasize student leadership and the relevance of critical thinking for everyday life. Dr. Jussaume is also the Director of the Saint Leo Honors Program.
