A Glimpse at Future Plans for Some 2021 Saint Leo University Graduates

Certain fields require new entrants in spite of recent economic downturn.

In spite of the difficulties the COVID-19 pandemic caused for corporations, colleges, and universities, a number of Saint Leo undergraduates located employment opportunities or were accepted into programs for further academic study. Faculty and administrators reported hearing the following success stories by commencement week, with more sure to come.

Accounting

In the field of accounting, salutatorian Nicholas Sobestanovich is working at an internship at certified public accounting firm Strategis CPAs and Consultants in suburban Tampa, FL.

Several accounting graduates accepted employment offers from PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC): Bridgett Lambers, Brianna Lennox, Dennis Raimo, and Harrison Seigel.

Accounting graduate Bailey Alleman was awarded a full academic fellowship to pursue a Master of Accounting at North Carolina State University, to be followed by employment at CliftonLarsonAllen CPA.

Rachel Bean will follow a similar path of advanced study and then employment, but will complete her Master of Accounting at Saint Leo and then move into a full-time position at Ernst & Young.

Samantha James has already started working as an accountant for the Pasco County, FL, public infrastructure program.

Summer Quigley will pursue a Master of Finance at the University of Miami and work at an internship with CliftonLarsonAllen CPA starting in September.


Economics

Karina Barberena was accepted to the analytic graduate program at American University in Washington, DC.

Mathis Hardy will pursue his Master of Business Administration at Delta State University in Mississippi and work as assistant men’s soccer coach.

Lauren Johnson will attend Florida International University in Miami and pursue a Master of Business Administration in business analytics.

Jaylin Moore will serve as a loan processor at RMS Elite Properties LLC in St. Petersburg, FL.

Jasmin Pnaiser accepted a sales position at New York Life.

Elias Sanders accepted a position as an implementation analyst at Clearwater Analytics in Boise, ID.


Law schools

Caleb Kroh, a political science student who graduated on an accelerated schedule, will attend the University of Dayton Law School in Ohio on a full-tuition scholarship.

Joseph Rojas, a history major, expects to enroll in St. John’s University School of Law in Queens, NY, after also being accepted into St. Thomas University College of Law in Miami.

Medicine and health programs

Graduates from the biology program at Saint Leo have been accepted in to a range of different programs.

Aisha Ambrose was accepted into the Dental College of Georgia at Augusta University in Augusta.

Carlos Dominguez was accepted to Kent State University College of Podiatric Medicine in Ohio.

Victoria Isgett was accepted by the Doctor of Pharmacy program at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston.

Anapaula Rios-Rosales was accepted into the Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine and will attend at the campus in Auburn, AL.

Daniel Torres will enter the Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine program at Rocky Vista University in Denver.


Technology

Two students who were awarded four-year scholarships to Saint Leo through a grant from the National Science Foundation completed their bachelor’s degrees in computer science in only three years, allowing them to devote their fourth year of study to earning the Master of Science in cybersecurity.

Christine Potthast expects to join the cybersecurity field soon in Orlando, FL.

Briana Yamamoto is a junior systems engineer at ISPA Technology in Tampa, FL.


Graduates from other disciplines

English major Christian Farrior will pursue advanced studies in literature at Lehigh University in Pennsylvania.

History student Alexander Tomberlin was accepted to the University of Florida's graduate program in history.
