New Student

Welcome to Saint Leo University. Your Journey Begins Here!

Fall 2021 New Student Orientation (NSO) will contain four key components to better prepare incoming students for a smooth and successful transition into the Saint Leo community. NSO includes a variety of programs and events that will set students on the path toward academic and personal success at Saint Leo University. Students entering the University for Fall 2021 can participate in virtual, online, and in-person activities throughout the summer. These experiences will acquaint students with our campus, support services, policies, faculty, and staff while allowing them to complete all Admitted Students Checklist items prior to the start of classes. NSO will also provide incoming students with the opportunity to build friendships before the semester. Please note that all incoming students (whether commuter, resident, first-time-in-college, or transfer) are highly encouraged to participate in as many components of New Student Orientation as possible.

Participating students and their families will learn about opportunities and responsibilities both in and out of the classroom. By exposing students to the key services and resources available to them, we hope to empower them to make well-informed decisions.

Please take a moment to review our helpful New Student Checklist to familiarize yourself with the various documents and tasks you will need to complete prior to your arrival here on campus for the semester.

CDC Guidelines For Welcome To The Pride & Super Saturday Events

The health and safety of our community and our guests remain our top priority. Students should be accompanied by no more than 2 guests for on-campus NSO events and are asked to arrive 15 minutes prior to the scheduled event.

Please also note the following visit requirements:

  • Anyone who is experiencing a cough, fever, has recently been exposed to someone with COVID-19, or has tested positive for COVID-19 within the last 14 days will not be permitted to visit campus. If you have tested positive for COVID-19, we ask that you do not visit campus until you have received a follow-up test with a negative test result and are free of all symptoms.
    • Please call the Office of Admissions at (352) 588-8283 should you experience any of the above circumstances prior to your visit, and we will be happy to assist you with rescheduling.
  • All guests who are visiting the University will be required to bring and wear a mask of their own during their time on campus. Please note that all of our tour guides and staff members will be wearing a mask for your protection as well.
  • We recommend that students and family members bring a water bottle to keep hydrated during their visit.
  • Registered students may only bring a maximum of 2 additional guests. Students may not bring more than the allotted two guests during their visit.

Based on guidance from the Center for Disease Control, individuals who have been outside of the United States in the last 14 days will not be able to participate in campus visits at this time. Students who are impacted by this restriction are encouraged to connect with their admissions counselor, attend a virtual admissions session, and enjoy our online virtual tour until such time arrives that this restriction has been lifted.

*Please check back regularly for updates to these guidelines. Additional details will be posted regarding our Week of Welcome, student move-in, and student check-in taking place this August.
