This degree is built to target these high-need areas by offering content and instructional approaches relevant to the challenges faced by educators in schools across the country. Our mission is two-fold to prepare students for a career in special education, and to support their journey in becoming advocates and agents of change. Students transfer their skills from the university classroom to their own classrooms immediately helping them to effect change as they learn.

The program is aligned with the National Council for Exception Children (CEC) standards with a focus on instruction for exceptional learners with unique learning needs.

The program is 30 credits and students take one course each 8-week term and can complete the MED in 18 months.
