Saint Leo University is proud to support three education centers in the Atlanta, Georgia area. These are just a few of the numerous centers we have around the country.
We recently caught up with Michelle Myrick-Simmons, the associate director of our Morrow, GA Education Center, to learn more about what this location offers and why it’s a great option for those seeking various degrees from a nationally-recognized institution.
Q: Where is the Morrow, GA Education Center located, and how large is it?
A: The Morrow Education Center is located at:
1590 Adamson Parkway
Suite 120 / Suite 250
Morrow, GA 30260
We are housed in a four-story building known as The Plaza. Note that our center is in two separate areas – the office area in suite 120 on the first floor and the classrooms in suite 250 on the second floor. To get to the eight classrooms we have, come up the elevator to the second floor, and they’ll be on your right.
We’re located about 16 miles south of downtown Atlanta, which is only about a 15 to 20-minute drive. We’re close to I-75, and we’re right off Jonesboro Road, which is Highway 54.
We were the first Atlanta center for Saint Leo, having opened in 1974, and we were originally on the Fort McPherson Army base. We moved into our current location in 2011.

Q: When are classes offered at the Morrow Education Center?
A: We’re proud to offer classes Monday through Saturday. Our most popular ones are the evening classes, which begin at 5 p.m., and the latest ones go until 10 p.m. On Saturdays, we have classes starting at 8 a.m. and running until 1 p.m.
We do offer some midday classes that go from about 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Most of these classes are done via our video teaching technology (VTT) where instructors at the other two Atlanta centers can teach students at our center.
Q: What are the students like at your center?
A: We are the largest center in Atlanta in terms of students, but we still offer small class sizes and personalized support from our faculty.
Most of our students are in their late 20s through 70s, and our average student age has gotten younger recently. We have over 100 military students, which include active-duty, reservists, and veterans. Many of them are from the Army, but we have all branches represented.
Q: What makes your center unique?
A: Along with offering a convenient academic option for students who are looking to choose from a variety of degrees with small classes and one-on-one support, we also offer plenty of amenities and events throughout the year.
We have a computer lab with 22 computers, a printer, and a copier. Our break room has a 52-inch TV, vending machines, a sink, a microwave, a Keurig coffee machine, and popcorn.
We host career and resume writing workshops, along with mini job fairs with local businesses. We’ve had police departments, banks, and restaurants come on site to speak with students.
We’re also proud to be connected to the community. We’ve had a human services club that has done drives throughout the year where we’ve collected clothes, food, toiletries, and other items for those in need. We’ve done things with the Clayton County chamber of commerce as well. Each year, we choose a local family that we raise toys and gift cards for to help them out.
For fun, we do events like “Scoop for a Cause” where we all enjoy some ice cream to raise awareness about different diseases and disabilities. For Valentine’s Day, we have red and white cupcakes. We also have spirit days and spirit weeks where we’ll have students dress a certain way.
For Veterans Day, we made this video to recognize our student veterans.
