Notice from the Center for Academic Vision & Excellence
In light of Saint Leo University’s COVID-19 prevention plan, the Center for Academic Vision and Excellence has transitioned to online services. All CAVE staff are now working remotely until further notice. The following services are now available ONLINE:
- Peer Tutoring
- Peer Assisted Learning (PAL) Coaching
- Supplemental Instruction
To access information related to these services, log into Okta and select Courses. Click on Other Resources and then CAVE for more specific information related to tutoring and PAL Coaching. Supplemental Instruction for select courses will follow the regular schedule with online links provided by your instructor or SI Leader.
Tutor.com is another tutoring service that Saint Leo University provides to students. Students can access tutor.com by logging into Courses, select Learning Tools, and select Tutoring services. If students run out of minutes, they need to email email@example.com.
Please note that the CAVE will be suspending printing services until further notice. Please visit the Cannon Memorial Library for printing needs. The CAVE’s computer lab will still be open for use.

In support of the mission of Saint Leo University, the Center for Academic Vision & Excellence seeks to provide students with services and programs that serve as building blocks for academic success.
The Center for Academic Vision & Excellence offers academic resources, workshops, classroom presentations, paper reviews, peer-assisted learning (PAL) coaching, peer tutoring, faculty supported Directed Learning Activities (DLA), peer-led - Supplemental Instruction (SI), computers, limited academic printing, and indoor and outdoor study areas. Come check us out on the 1st floor of Kirk Hall.

Programs, Services, and Supports
Tutoring is a "student centered" activity, as such, tutors provide individual and/or group tutoring to students across a broad range of course. Tutors meet with students on a short or long term during the academic year. Learn more about Peer Tutoring here.
Peer-Assisted Learning (PAL) Coaching
PAL Coaches encourage students (their mentees) growth in academic awareness and self-direction by introducing strategies and skills that prepare students for overcoming academic challenges. Learn more about PAL Coaching here.
Supplemental Instruction (SI)
Supplemental Instruction, or SI, is a program that provides students with content specific peer tutor led sessions to support academic learning, retention, and success within historically difficult courses. Learn more about Supplemental Instruction here.
Academic Services and Supports
