Student Affairs

The focus of Student Affairs is meant to be one of education and guidance, not merely problem solving. The role of our staff is, as is that of the faculty, to assist the student in reaching true maturity. When coupled with a challenging academic experience, these services and opportunities facilitate a student's total development so that they attain their educational goals as individuals prepared to function successfully as leaders within a global society. You'll love the person you become here!

    Counseling & Prevention Services

Based on a holistic approach to wellness, Saint Leo University Counseling Services provides for the emotional, psychological and spiritual needs of its students and campus personnel. Promoting education, prevention and intervention, the Counseling Center strives to aid individuals on their path toward academic, social, and personal growth. Additionally, the University recognizes the effects of alcohol and other substances and encourages students to seek assistance.

The Counseling Center's hours are Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., by appointment. Extended hours are arranged on an individual basis. Although e-mail and web information is not intended to replace face-to-face counseling, it can provide an opportunity to explore topics related to mental health and emotional well-being.

The Stephen Herrmann Mail Center Overview

The Stephen Herrmann Mail Center handles all incoming and outgoing mail for Saint Leo University and its residents. All student and department mail boxes are located in the Mail Center building.

Packages arrive in the Stephen Herrmann Mail Center throughout the day and may be picked up during regular service hours (between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday). Campus residents must present a valid picture identification to receive packages. Packages addressed to university personnel will be delivered in the afternoons and must be signed for by a department staff member. In the event that a package cannot be delivered, an attempt will be made to deliver the package on the next business day. If a package is not delivered after a second attempt, e-mail notification will be sent to the addressee requesting that the package be picked up within a set time period. At the end of the set time period, the undelivered package will be returned to the sender.

All mailbox holders must have a mailbox key to access mail. Keys are available to resident students at the Mail Center. No mail (except packages too large for mailboxes) will be distributed through the service window. Campus Mail Center staff members are not permitted to check mailboxes or back room for packages for anyone, except in the event that a mailbox key is lost. A fee of $100 will be charged to the student or department account in the event of a lost mailbox key.

Residents who would like to have their mail forwarded to a new address upon leaving the University must provide self-addressed adhesive labels to the Stephen Herrmann Mail Center. The university will forward mail for three months, or until all the labels are used—whichever comes first.
