What is a 3+1 Accelerated Degree Program*?
Saint Leo University is pleased to offer highly motivated and well qualified students the opportunity to accelerate their education. Students undertake an aggressive academic schedule that permits them to earn both their undergraduate and graduate degrees in an abbreviated time frame.
*These programs are only offered for students studying through the traditional day program at University Campus.

Students who elect to enroll in a 3+1 Accelerated Degree Program will enjoy a number of advantages. These include:
- No entrance exams required for the graduate portion
- Preferential admission to the graduate program
- Gaining a competitive edge over their peers, graduating with two high-value degrees in less time
- Ability to enter the workforce earlier, armed with an advanced degree that will likely increase career opportunities and earning potential
- Savings by reducing the amount of tuition, fees and housing costs necessary to earn both degrees
Students who meet the requirements for the Saint Leo University Honors Program or are already in the program are eligible for admission into the 3+1 Accelerated Degree Program. Honors Program eligibility requirements are:
- GPA of 3.5 or higher
- SAT (CR+M) of 1270 or higher or
- ACT of 26 or higher
- AA or AS degree
- GPA of 3.75 or higher
Students whose credentials fall just below the minimum eligibility requirements and are interested in being considered by the Admissions Committee for admission into a 3+1 Accelerated Degree Program should alert their Saint Leo admission counselor.
Time to Completion
Students in the 3+1 Accelerated Degree Program follow the same undergraduate and graduate curricula as our traditional programs, but proceed at a faster pace. Earning a bachelor's degree of 120-123 credits in three years requires that students take a minimum of 40-41 credit hours per year, which may require a combination of on-campus, summer and online courses. Transferred credits will also impact program completion time. AP, IB and dual enrollment credits earned by high school students before graduation are accepted.

How to Apply
Eligible prospective students interested in a 3+1 accelerated degree program should simply select the program of their choice when completing their online application or The Common Application. Students using our paper application should write in the program of choice in the line provided for their intended major.
Current Saint Leo students who meet the eligibility criteria and are interested in changing to one of the 3+1 programs should contact their academic advisor for assistance.
Students will need to complete the application for admission to the graduate program of choice at the completion of their second year.
