Saint Leo University is offering a virtual boot camp for human resource professionals looking to earn industry credentials (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, and SHRM-SCP). A former item writer for credentialing exams offered through the HR Certification Institute® (HRCI) and the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) will lead the classes.

Dr. Sheri Bias, Saint Leo University associate professor of human resources, has taught at the university for more than 25 years and held many human resource leadership positions, including at the NASA Langley Research Center, Pricewaterhouse Coopers, and Anheuser Busch.

Through the HR Boot Camp, Bias will share her knowledge through more than 20 hours of live, online instruction over the course of eight weeks. The program will help human resource professionals build their knowledge, skills, and abilities for successful test preparations.

“Credentialing tests can often feel overwhelming—you don’t know where to start or how to study,” said Bias. “Our boot camp will provide an easy-to-follow framework for how to study and provide participants with individual attention and support. HR professionals will walk away feeling prepared and confident in their abilities to pass the test.”

The boot camp will feature a small cohort of students, providing an opportunity to engage in discussions and ask questions. Participants also will receive access to hundreds of exam practice questions and online certification materials.

Classes are open to the public and start on May 6. They will be held on Mondays from 6 to 9 p.m. (EST). The cost is $1,749 per student. The fee includes the facilitated course and access to Human Resource Certification Preparation (HRCP) materials online.

The program is available through the university’s Center for Alternative Pathway Programs, which offers convenient and flexible professional development courses for working adults. For more information or to register, visit www.saintleo.edu/HR-Boot-Camp. The registration deadline is April 29.
