Why choose Human Services at Saint Leo

You’ve raised a family, you volunteer at the food bank, maybe you’ve even served your country at the front lines. Turn your passion for helping others into a fulfilling career in Human Services, and find out what a difference you can really make.

You’re at the right place to advance your career in human services. Saint Leo's core values of community, respect and integrity—rooted in the University's 1,500-year-old Benedictine tradition—are a perfect fit with the professional values of the field.

Learn how to become an effective leader in varied settings such as family, child and youth service agencies; group homes and halfway houses; correctional, mental retardation and community mental health centers; and programs concerned with alcoholism, drug abuse, family violence and aging.

Build a foundation in social policy, group skills, psychology, sociology, diversity issues and research methods. Then develop your professional identity through advanced field placements—supervised opportunities to learn roles, skills and administrative processes.
